Yeah, ANN's easy and done.
It's NYCC's own scavenger QR code hunt that we're still stuck at 11 of 12 clues. Just one more, somewhere. |

You'd think by 2013, we'd have this whole "internet coverage in a convention" issue fixed by now. I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am that ANN used a low-tech system for NYCC after the frustrating scavenger hunt at Otakon. P.S., thank you to Mr. MacDonald for the "fanboy" shoutout at the ANN panel. I'll do my best to get $10/month in web traffic. |

Hey, I've never done a web scavenger hunt so I do not really understand what I am looking for. I have hovered my cursor over every word of the NYCC articles (cookies enabled) and noticed no links aside from the green ones that lead to other ANN pages.
Are there any examples from past contests? |

In the Otakon coverage, the links were silhouettes of airplanes, as at the bottom of animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2013/otakon/12. For Japan Expo USA it was similar. Back at Anime Expo, they were text links as at the bottom of animenewsnetwork.com/convention/2013/anime-Expo/21
There may be a delay between the pages going up and the links being inserted, however. |

The codes are up now!! As with the Otakon and Japan Expo coverage, there are 5 plane silhouettes hidden within our NYCC con coverage. Let me know if there are any issues!

 I've been checking the site all day in excitement! I know the chances of winning are probably slim, but I'm hoping!

I know that they said they would announce and contact the winner on October 20, today. They also said that entries would be accepted until 11:59 pm, October 20. That doesn't give them a lot of time to choose a winner. Realistically, expect the winner to be contacted tomorrow. And, although they say "announced and contacted", it usually makes sense to wait until successful contact is made before making any announcements.

Oops. I didn't realize / forgot we were originally going to announce the winners on the 20th.
We've pushed the announcement back to have it coincide with our new layout launch. Should be soon. I'll update the contest tomorrow. -t |
