Hahahaha, I remember that scene when Souma and Tsubasa were duking it out, and out of nowhere that KOTOKO song (I believe it was titled "Supperation") played.
Well, at least it got better later on (though that last scene on episode 8....wow ). Though since you consider the execution to be rather cliched, it makes me wonder how you're going to react to the ending.

Indeed. Personally, I was very shocked and surprise with how the last episodes played out. Maybe I'm just isolated and need to see more, older anime; but I thought it was rather well-handled. The ending to the series is one of the reasons I like it so much.

Same here, though I definitely consider the rest of the series to be stellar, save for some of the clumsy animation in the mecha battles.
And yes, the "mildly suggestive" pencil boards are a very good addition to this series' extras.

Those pencil boards rock! Of course I have to make sure they don't get.......damaged.

What episode was that scene in? Being the helpless Kotoko fan that I am, Suppuration being my favourite song from her (maybe even my favourite song period) & me having only watched the first 2 episodes, I'm dying to know. |
That would be episode 5.
Quote: | The series doesn't seem to be worth it to me at this point, but with Kotoko singing a good portion of the songs in this series, I really want to watch it. I don't have a place that rents anime nearby me though. |
I'm buying the DVDs just for the heck of hoping that Geneon would take a nod towards shoujo-ai series and licenses more of them (still awaits for Yamibou, Strawberry Panic, Kashimashi, and possibly Marimite to come to the stateside ).

great mecha design...big and heavy looking with awesome weapons....
i love Kaishaku's character design...can't say no to the series that feature the character artwork...yes i even have Magical Meow Meow Taruto....
music's great too...Kotoko's hard hitting beat keeps the action going...yes the episode 5 fight scene is one of the best mecha fight scene....music makes it that much more exciting....
i watched this on fansub years ago and was so excited that this is now out on DVD....vol 3 with artbook is in the mail and i can't wait to put the volume on the max and watch the whole series again...
