All well and good but they should never have made that ban attempt in the first place.

Nintendo have been the leader of bad decisions for a few years now, this was just another to add to the list. The days of awesome Nintendo are well and truly past us : (

Still new Smash Bros and Mario Kart look good

What are you talking about? They make good games but its business like usual.

Evo asked Nintendo and got almost an immediate reply, saying something like, "Private streaming of Nintendo games is not permitted," but then three hours later, Nintendo sent a more detailed reply, apologizing and permitting them to stream.

Evo isn't a private streaming case. The 3-hour time frame between the rejection and permission makes me think that Nintendo has an automatic reply system that catches certain words and auto-replies to them with a response. Either that or someone looks over the email quickly (they likely get a ton every day) and sends pre-written emails. It sounds more like a mix-up then an attack on evo.

Sad, but very true. Vividly, I remember the creative, youthful awesome Nintendo during the early 90's and those were some amazing times. Back then, most of Nintendo decisions were typically decent and few questionable at best.

Those days are long gone and likely will never be back ever again. I don't even recognize the current Nintendo of today compared to the 90's.

Real shame, as at one point, Nintendo was one of the best video game companies around and I personally enjoyed most of the games Nintendo made by then.

How the times have changed though..

Except that there has been years of precedent of large events not being able to stream SSB:

...Not sure where this, "Gee willikers, Nintendoh, shore ain't whut it ushed teh bee!" is coming from. Guess no one's looking forward to Yarn Yoshi, SSB4 New Super Mario World, X, Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, Mario Kart 8, Pikmin 3, Bayonetta 2, DK Country Tropical Freeze, etc. If I'm missing something here, I'd like to know. What are these "bad decisions" that everyone's eager to agree with, but will never readily explain, except to spew nonsense like, "They make kiddie games for casuals!", a claim that is wildly fallacious.

Not to defend Nintendo as this was a pretty dumb move, but Microsoft would like a word with you. Rolling Eyes

It's true that Nintendo's glory days are far, far behind it, but they still put out some good games, especially for the DS and 3DS (though many are ports, but good ones).
