BLOODY CARTOON NETWORK!!!
I taped the Wed. 12:30 am episode of Inu Yasha and discovered that it was a repeat! My God, there's only about 8 episodes left and Cartoon Network starts showing REAPEATS! What is up with that?
I know I'm sounding a bit like a hysterical fan girl but EIGHT EPISODES!!! While I've enjoyed the heck out of Inu Yasha, I'd sort of like it to be over with!
Does anybody know why they started doing repeats? Is it just to torment those of us who want to see the end of the story or what?

Actually there are 10 episodes left. I don't know why they did this but it might be that they are waiting for the release of the last 2 DVDs on Oct 3 and 24. I guess you'll just have to wait until Oct 11 to see the final 10 episodes.

Ugh, yeah I just kinda want to get this series over. I started watching it back when they first aired it and I've tried to keep up with it, despite not really caring a whole lot for it. After 150+ episode, or however long it has been, I just want to finish it already

I really shouldn't complain because according to the Encyclopedia it ran for just under 4 years in Japan and will run just over 4 years here.
But, for cryin' out loud! There's just 8 episodes left! They just want the numbers for sweeps...**wait, a sec...** okay, just took another look at the "Advanced Schedule" on the Home Page. If I read it correctly, they are going to be playing an episode a night every Monday thru Thursday starting Sept. 4 until the series is completely over...
Huh, might not be a bad thing...get all 8 episodes over in 2 weeks instead of 8 weeks, no more prolonged torture.

I think what annoyed me the most, and it may have been the same when aired in Japan, was the repeats. The show has enough filler and recap episodes as is. I think between the dvd releases and adult swim restarting the series, that I've seen the first 60 episodes about 5x each. I was surprised that the show was only 160 some episodes. Because of all the times I ended up rewatching it, it felt more like 400 to me.

Not to anger anybody but the ending episodes aren't really worth watching. Its the movies that really end the series so if you have seen past the band of seven arc you can pretty much stop and watch the movies.

Yup,totally agree with you,no offense to anyone, but the ending sucked. On second thought, it's not only the ending, the episodes got really really boring later on,the same people, same techniques and i just can't believe how many times kikyo had "died" and been revived afterwards. Anyways,no more lectures, the earlier seasons are actually pretty good, not to mention funny too.Like many people said, the finale is probably gonna come in the 5th movie, but for now there is no sign of it.I recommand the 3rd movie,it's my favorite among the moviesSesshoumaru tended save inuyasha from getting striked by this powerfull force, and he was hurt pretty badly.

Well, Sunrise has stated that they've had a few talks with Rumiko Takahashi about ending Inu-yasha properly in an OVA or something. From what it sounds like they're not going to touch the property until the manga ends though. The manga'll probably go on for at least another year I'd say from recent developments.

While I have to wait on Cartoon Network, in reading what others have said, even in the spoilers (I have no self-control ), that this has a poor or at least unsatisfying ending.
So, I hope that you're correct that there's an OVA within the next year or two in order to close thing properly.
Poor ending or not, I'm still looking forward to seeing how it does end.

The manga continues on after the anime. However, the NA release of the manga is still quite far away from that point, so you could either wait for the manga to catch up, or read it using other unconventional means.

It's rough when a series ends that you've really liked. But there's also a point when there's nothing more to say about the characters. I think alot of Inuyasha fans feel that the series has lasted about two seasons too long and it's time to wrap things up - and there are even some who think it would have benefitted from being shorter than that. Scanning the Inuyasha threads here over the past year or two, I noticed that there was increasing agitation among fans who wanted some kind of resolution and thought the series was dragging severely. It's sometimes a fine line between keeping a good thing going and jumping the shark.
I think the series is overdue to end, but I do admit it's going to be strange when the point comes in October that there are no more new episodes, simply out of habit.
