Wind off naruto is a song that i find extremely relaxing. It'd be really great if anyone has any songs that they think are relaxing and easy to sleep to. Preferably Japanese music.
If you have any recommendations to some bands or some music that would help me. please post.
Thankyou.

A lot of Akino Arai's work is very nice to relax to. Most of her music almost has a "surreal" and "otherworld" sound to it. Pieces of hers that I think you'd like are the two ending pieces, "Hiro no Tsuki" and "Tsuki no Ie" from the Outlaw Star anime. The end song "Kakusei Toshi" from Tokyo Underground is one I'm quite fond of. Her performed version of "Adesso e Fortuna" from Record of Lodoss War is really nice, better than the original sung by Sherry in my opinion. Her recent collaberation with Hisaaki Hogari on the theme song for Ghibli's newest work, Gedo Senki is really beautiful. It's called "Song of Therru" and I really love it personally. A lot of her non-anime stuff is really nice for just relaxing with too.

Hoshi no Suna by Gackt springs to mind, maybe the instrumental version though because the version with him singing is too sad. Also Fragrance, Solitary, Regret, Leeca, Lapis and the Seventh Night (acoustic) versions of Mind Forest, Kimi ga Matteiru Kara, Kimi no Tameni Dekiru Koto, Last Song and Kimi ga Oikaketa Yume, also all by Gackt. He's got lots of nice relaxing songs amongst all the rock stuff
Hmm... What else... *looks through Jrock playlist* Sarasouju no Komori Uta and maybe Meguru by Kagrra,, Suna by Nightmare, The Silver Shining by L'arc~en~ciel and Cape of Storms, Horizon and Secret Letters by Hyde. I think some of the other tracks off Hyde's Roentgen album would probably work judging by those three, but I haven't heard them so I couldn't say for sure.
Hope that helps!

The Haibane Renmei OST is incredibly mellow and relaxing; I've fallen asleep to it before. It's also good as nice background music for small get-togethers or working.
Also, although I don't have it (impossible to find.. ), I've heard most of the Arete Hime OST and it's just phenomenal. It's made up of very pretty instrumentals, a few symphonic pieces, and one of the most epic songs I have ever heard, "Krasno Sontse," sung by Origa.
Also, the Akino Arai recommendation is great. She's one of my very favorite singers, and the person responsible for my introduction to Yoko Kanno's music. Sora no Mori and RGB: Arai Akino Collection Album are probably her most mellow releases (and they're both best-of albums, so you can get a taste for the range of work she's done), but you should check out all her stuff. She's incredible. Kouseki Radio is my favorite CD of hers.

The dotHACK//SIGN OST is grand for sleepin'. Especially the songs that focus on strings. That's mostly all I can think of, since I mostly have all the songs from the OST's. If your looking for a relaxing song thats non-anime (I know your looking for Japanese) you should try Flame, Thrown Away, and Touched by VAST.

For good jpop to fall asleep to, look no further
than Chobits.
Most of the stuff from Fruits Basket also. "Chiisana
Inori" always works for me.
The absolute best song to induce sleep though is
"Mou Sukoshi...Mou Sukoshi" the very beautiful
ending song to Midori Days. The song
has a great mixture of jazz undertones and the singer's
lyrics are dripping with emotion; the way she delievers
the song will carry you off to dreamland.

I put the elfen lied ost and all the neon genesis ost's on my ipod and hook it up to my surround sound. I fall asleep to the elfen lied ost especially lillium. That song is so soothing and relaxing, as is the whole soundtrack. The i usually wake up to neon genesis and lay there listening to it for an hour.

What a good idea! I have playlists on my iTunes for artists and genres and stuff, but not for moods/times of the day. I just might steal that idea from you.
Nice sleepy music, by the way. Santi-U is one of my all-time favs.

Argh, I can't stand the iTunes software. I like my MP3 player simple and small - guess that's why I've been using WinAmp for all these years.
I've got a nice sleepy-time mix setup with lots of BGM from romance shows Not the obligatory techno tracks, or corny hyjinx clarinet tracks, mind you - the mellow, piano and strings driven tracks. For the most part these shows are devoid of much action, but are full of angsty reflection, the cute "getting closer but not together" phase, which make perfect material for napping.
Distance and Yamanai Ame from Honey & Clover - both nice slow songs with a keyboard melody over strings. Relaxing, and a bit sad. I also like Yotsuba No Clover from this disk just cause it reminds me of some great parts of the show.
Koi Kaze's OST is also great for bed time. Kouritsuku Yoru no Omokage, Kanashiki Omoi and countless others are instantly recognizable, but soft and relaxing.
KGNE has a wonderfull OST as well, with many songs fitting this purpose well. Zutto Suki Datta is just one of the beautiful tracks here, and very nice to listen to when going to sleep.
I've also got lots of Tenmon tracks from the 2 Shinkai movies, as they're just amazing.
A bunch more odds and ends fill out my list, but you get the general picture.

The soundtracks to Jin Roh and Princess Mononoke are both great (mostly) instrumental works. The Jin Roh music in particular is pretty mellow, so it's good for bedtime listening, although the tone is kind of dark. Not surprising, I guess, considering the movie.

The only song I've ever fallen asleep to, being over the age of 4, would be Wakare No Kyoku from Fullmetal Alchemist. It is, hands down, one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. Period. It's mellow, pasionate, yet still soft. I want to play it on piano, but I suck. So, I'd probably kill it. DX

Pretty much anything from the Air soundtrack. It has the perfect blend of acoustic piano, music box, and synth voices for a very relaxing listening experience. Nothing that moves too fast, and those synthetic strings in the background are awfully soothing. It is also probably the only heavily synthetic anime soundtrack out there that doesn't sound gloomy (I'm looking at you, Kajiura Yuki...) and is still able to sound really good.

I don't know if we can post anything that's non-anime, but I'll put on Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike or Guilty Gear music. I'm really into games, but other than that it would definetly be Trance or Ketsumeishi. Ketsumeishi's got some of the most mello songs out there for rap artists.

I have absolutely no problem falling aleep to Waltz For Zizi from Cowboy Bebop. It's sweet and lazy and melodic.

Someone mentioned Air, and I second that. Although i would have to limit myself to certain songs only. Others are alittle too sad for me to listen to as they recall certain scenes for me.
