I wonder if we'll ever get to see a tour of this in the U.S. It's an extremely interesting idea, adapting such a visceral and intense film as a stage work. Has anyone seen it yet or heard any reviews? It would seem to be good, as it's doing well in its initial run. I'm curious to see if any other Miyazaki works get adapted for the stage. I imagine Whisper of the Heart and Kiki's Delivery Service could lend themselves well, given a little creativity (especially on Kiki's behalf).
Still, I wonder how this ever came about? Who would've ever thought Mononoke could be worked into a stage production...? |

This sounds really interesting, would really love to see it! Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite Ghibli films!

Ok, that's a bit harsh, and do the same Japanese netizens know their countries do production of western musical/plays like for example: Sonim was in the Japanese production of Sweeney Todd. So where's the outrage over that? Tatsuya Fujiwara (the dude who was in the live-action Deathnote, and Battle Royale) was involved in Japanese productions of Shakespeare play. How come the same Japanese netizen didn't complain about that?? |

To be blunt, the photographs bring to mind the various local Japanese musical troupes that perform at the London Matsuri: whilst every effort has been made to optimise authenticity, there still seems to be much disbelief to suspend. |

Pay per view? Aww. Now I can't sneak into the Japanese stream.
