I don't think many people watch Naruto movies for their story anyway, so the low score there is understandable.

So off-topic question, are we still dubbing the TV series? If so, are the dubs going to be Blue-Ray/DVD purchases only?

The film was okay, but thats about it. Your average Shonen Jump film.

Not to be an ass or anything but Kakashi Gaiden isn't filler, it was set between the time-skip in the manga

But this particular film has nothing to do with the Gaiden or manga material whatsoever. And Kakashi Gaiden is not about time between original Naruto manga and Naruto Shippuden, it is about the time Naruto was not even born yet (though was close to).

Yo, Carlo. I don't want to be a grammar nazi, but...

There are two instances of Naruto in your review, one is the character and the other is the series. Only one of these two should be italicized, but you've got them both that way.

Other than that, a helpful review. I like the series, but, as with most anime series, I don't bother with the movies. Looks like there's no need to bother with this one, either.

You misunderstand. my comment was regulated to a line in the first paragraph of the review in which it states "Fans will also recognize this as the Kakashi Chronicles side-story—an example of filler done right."

Second Kakashi Gaiden in the manga are chapters 239-244, during the time-skip. I'm not referring to the timeline, I'm referring to the order in which the manga was written.

"The second key moment is Naruto's first lesson with Kakashi, where he must retrieve a pair of bells from his master or go hungry"

So they remade the sequence from the original series? That's a bit cheap.

The encyclopedia algorithm does the italics automatically to franchise names - it's always an issue when the name of the show is the name of the title character, and sometimes the italics show up before I click 'publish' and sometimes they don't. I often have to go in afterward and clean up what the encyclopedia is programmed to do automatically.

In other words, not Carlo's fault, my fault for not double-checking.

What makes you say that?

I doubt cause the dub and sub grades got a C+ will make more people watch it ala illegal fansubbing.

Another Naruto movie released in English and I had no idea it was even out. At least with the Inuyasha movies there were TV commercials.
