Fantastic news! Save for Chihayafuru Season 1 this particular show was my surprise favorite seasonal anime when I watched it streaming on Crunchyroll. Ordered.

idk how well these type of shojo titles are going to sell
I can tell you that the resale value of the hanasaku nendoroid is pretty low which probably means demand is not so good

this is just my own speculation but since TariTari was condensed into 12 episodes maybe sales were not as good as they had projected with hanasaku.

I bought the BDs, but had no interest in the Nendoroid or any other HI figures that I saw (not that I recall at this point if I'd seen any others...).

Obviously I have no any idea what their expectations might have been, but both series had about 8600 discs sold per volume (HI slightly less, TT slightly more) according to the numbers in this thread. Wasn't Hanasaku Iroha an anniversary project for the studio? That might have caused them to splurge more on the production, and maybe expected sales might have been a bit less of a consideration than normal.

Who can say, really? ^^

Pre-ordered Smile

One of my favorite shows that year, a coming-of-age story done right (sans episode 3, but all great shows have one black sheep episode in the family Anime hyper)

Nice pickup NIS! I hope they get the movie too.

I doubt they would be making an HI movie if the sales were disappointing. And if Tari Tari was condensed it was probably for the best considering the minimalist story on that one.

HanaIro is not a shōjo show, quite far from it actually. And TariTari neither, by the way.
