Received my Ground Control to Psychoelectric Girl (Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) box today. Finished watching the first nine episodes.
The premium box looks great as always. I only cut out the shrink wrap on the top opening so I can protect the box from dust or other dangers.
It is short on extras, but the box sized art book more than makes up for that.
Yeah, its not dubbed, but I can live with that. I like the main menu too, glad they didn't stick with just a static image. Music on the main menu is good too, I have had it going for about 20 minutes now, without it boring me.
Never found the time to watch the fansub, but so far nine episodes in I like the series. Still wondering where it is going, but will find out soon enough.
I'd say this is another win for NISA.

What were the pictures in the art book like? Any concept or promo art, or was it mostly screen shots?

It has both. Mainly screencaps for the episode recap portions, more designs and such on the character pages.
Took a photo of a page. Click the thumbnail for the full image.

Judging from the picture, it looks like they mirroring the booklets that came with the JP release - episode synopsis, character designs and interviews (I wonder if they got them all...should be like 6-7 interviews total).

I count 13 interviews -- cast, director, producer, author, etc. Each interview includes four to six questions.

Still hurts when I think about the fact that I imported the 7 vols. from Japan two days before NISA announced this.
Definitely double-dipping.

Well, the Japanese release has audio commentary tracks, soundtrack CDs, character song CDs, VA talk show CDs, exclusive short stories by the novel author, the aforementioned booklets containing the same contents as NISA's book, and doesn't have subtitles forced on.

The music CDs are definitely great, but I can't understand a word of the audio commentary and the talk show. Guess I'm gonna go through everything over the weekend to take away some of the regret. It's not exactly killing me though, I'll live! Only thing I really, really need is the Gamers-exclusive box.

I guess I hadn't really paid any attention to the cover art, in particular how fanservicey the back of the box is. When this showed up from Rightstuf the other day and I opened the box, the back cover was the first thing I saw. Hello there!

Once you remove the shrink wrap, the box art is susceptible to damage.

not to worry. I've already replaced the shrink wrap with a miniature futon. The only way it'll ever get damaged is if you if kick it up into the air and have it land on the dinner table while Mom's eating

Shrink wrap isn't going to protect it from much of anything, save for the small scratch or minor scuff here or there. I'm a firm believer of throwing away shrink wrap, but since sometimes these things cost some serious money, I understand the mentality behind keeping it on. If an item comes in a resealable plastic slip, I will usually keep those on.

Holy Crap, the back of GCtPG is pretty damn awesome. Methinks the "back" of my copy will actually be the "front."
