I have been watching anime for a few years now as a regular hobbie and I have been watching kiddy anime since I was small. Now that I have had a taste of anime I find that I can make that experience better, by making fan sites for different series. Right now I just have one going (click on www at the bottom), its a Now and Then, Here and There fan site.
So my question is; does anyone else make fan sites for anime shows that they've seen, or fan sites about anime in general. Also I would like to see some of the work that you have done. The site I am working on took me around a week to complete, after working on and off on it. It was also a little difficult to get any information or media for the site since there is very little information on the show online. What difficulties did you find when you where building your site? Anyway thanks for your answers and also Nagisa please dont delete or lock this thread, it is not intended to be advertising. I want to know about other fan sites about anime, thanks. |

Dude I'm not sure thats what he meant. I used to make fan sites back in the day, my sophomore through senior high school years. Never anime though it was always video games. MegaMan, Zelda, and I can't remember what else but there are so many damn sites to compete with so it was more of a hobbie and not to get ads and other crap. My senior year I found out I had a lot less time on my hands so my only web sites created where for school projects. Teachers were amazed that I could make a WWI website so I always got perfects. I wish I could still make sites, but these days I'd rather spend that time watching anime, than trying to make more sites. |

No I don't make fan sites of my own, but I sometimes dabble with photoshop/paintshop. I did create a few website but it was more for gaming than for fan sites. Media is hard to come by unless it's a mainstreamed anime(Now and Then Here and There) is not mainstreamed I don't think.
Artwork you can probably do with a laptop byyourself and create your own media pretty easily, I suggest going ot more established anime fan sites(anime in general), and get to know a few people from the forum and maybe you guys can start on a project of your own. |

Yes. I myself have created a fansite of my own.
As you can see, I'm a very big fan of Onegai Teacher. Thus I have created one of the biggest Onegai Teacher fansites on the internet. (link below) I believe some fanlistings for anime do serve as a fansite, because some but very few of them do contain original content relating to the anime. |

Wow thats really good, I was looking through and I must say you have excellent graphics for your site, how long did it take you to make them?
I looked over version 1 of your site and I found that more on par with my site  .

Yeah, thanks for the compliments. 
Well, I am a complete novice to HTML, so it took me a long time with the studying from books, etc. It took around 3 months, including laziness resting. The first version of the site I made back in April 2004, using just Frontpage, but the second version I made from scratch by hand. |

For the most part I used front page to make my whole page, but I did a bit of the coding myself, the hardest part was finding information for the site about the anime, thanks to I got a lot from ANN, and some from the Central Park Media Site. But I wrote all of the character bio's and the synopsis I wrote myself.
Another thing was finding a trailer for the anime, there was one site that I found that had a trailer for it. But it took me around an hour of searching  to find it.
BTW if anyone checks out my site could they tell me if my character bio's and synopsis are good, Synopsis is under Story and Character Bio's is under Characters. I dont want to put up false or poor information. Thanks. |
