..............................Uh, I can't think of anyone who's made a game like Metal Gear Solid 2 so....... the more Kojima involvement the BETTER.

You're in luck "Kojima stated that he is not writing or directing the film".
Anyways, it's a relieve to hear that Kojima-san is atleast involved with the movie and i agree they should go for someone new and in my opinion someone who hasn't experienced a MGS before.

He's only on board to give advice and ensure they are going in the right direction.
Good move and also nice to see the movie won't rely on big names and be your typical video game > movie trash.

I hope he's going to actually make it true to the source material...
If not, what's the point?
FWIW, the Initial D live action movie trashed the original story and ended up much worse than it needed to be.

A lot of people hopping on this bandwagon these days... odd given Kojima isn't always the only writer involved with the games given how big they are. And any retcons and inconsistencies are remarkably few given the grand scheme of things.
But thankfully Kojima is a better writer than you are a reader given the article explicitly says he's not involved in writing the film.

I don't see why he wouldn't... Though I personally hope they adapt the original MSX Metal Gear with the other games in hindsight (given every game was created without a sequel in mind) to set up future entries, but it'll likely adapt Metal Gear Solid first.

^When have creators ever stopped game movies from being untrue to the source material?

Sony stopped the Uncharted movie when it was going in a totally odd direction, now a new director and writer are working on it.
Kojima and Konami also stopped previous production on a Metal Gear Solid film when the producer was trying to low ball the budget required and do something else.

^My point being is that for every time that happens, there's 10 Uwe Boll movies that... well, are Uwe Boll movies.

Either Akio Ōtsuka or David Hayter should be actors in this movie.
