DMP does another kickstarter, this time for Unico!

Oh, awesome! I loved those movies when I was a kid.
 $35 seems a bit steep to me, but it's going to be a full-color omnibus, right? I'll have to think about it.
One thing of note:
So there is also a potential ~*~MYSTERY~*~ license at stake here also that we'll only see if/when Unico makes it. |

not for me, I've never been a fan of tezukas style but its nice to see manga projects on kickstarter are working.

Man, the awesome just keeps racking up! I wasn't able to pledge for Barbara, but I'm buying it the first day I can (I can't really spend anything til Otakon right now, but I do have Heart of Thomas on preorder, so many damn good omnibuses coming out this year!)

I'm very interested but holding back for now, if only to hear what the extra mystery title may be.
Also DMP's previous kickstarter (Barbara) hasn't finished yet, so am slightly reluctant to pledge again before I've even seen the fruits of the last one. That said, I'm bound to cave in once I've been paid this month... Side note: For those outside of the US, remember to add your postage fees!

Looks like Unico made its goal in only 5 days!
I hope they add the 2nd license push on today. I really want to know what it is. |

DMP announced on twitter this morning that their bonus title is Atomcat, a 1-volume spinoff of Astro Boy.

Good to hear it's working out so far.
I'm finding the addition of Atomcat to be complicating things though. If people pledge extra money for the book and it doesn't reach $26,000 would people get their money back or is everything just taken for Unico? DMP have promised another title beyond Atomcat too. It just keeps going!  I've yet to add anything, but intend to get involved in the second half of the campaign.

Astro Boy + a cat = the cutest thing I can possibly think of in this universe! Ok, second cutest, after my own, not-superpowered but still incredibly awesome cat (unless you count extreme cuddling as a superpower) |

Increased my Pledge so I could get both Unico & Atom-Cat, didn't read it all, double checked and now i'm kind of bummed, backing both books means you have to wait till next March to get em. thats an extra three months. Oh well I'm a patient man. And I have plenty of other Tezuka works (& manga in general) to tide me over till then. Still, gonna be a wait though.

They said in the video if you pledge to both, you'll get Unico in December when it's released, then Atomcat in March when that's released. So you don't have to wait for both to be published to enjoy Unico! |

Ahh I see, well thats good to know, I was worried there for a second! 
I look forward to Tezuka-Clause leaving Unico in my mail-box come this holiday season!
