Crazy times in the electronic store industry, hm? Although, according to the below article, the CEO's name was Brian Dunn.

And, like most corporations in this country, they will probably give him a mass bonus on his way out. American capitalism.... stupid is as stupid does.

I can see where this topic is going to go now... About Best Buy, its too bad but it was inevitable. It can't compete with sites like Amazon. |

As the article states, he resigned because of fallout from a sex scandal about the CEO of the company. Nothing to do with Capitalism or Socialism. Just plain ole human nature.

Fat chance, darling. What the heck do you have against Best Buy anyway? They didn't take back that used DVD you bought and opened 6 months ago? I also like how someone resigning = OMG THE COMPANY IS GOING UNDER!! |

I am hoping Fry's will take some of there market share when they finally go under. The service is just a crappy, but the prices and selection, from computer parts to anime DVDs, is far superior. |

Funny thing, that same scenario happened to Borders. And it did come true!! |

They're a garbage company that continually tries to load you up with stuff you don't want or don't need while you're trying to buy something you do want or need. There are *lots* of reasons why people don't like Best Buy, and the chain as a whole has been circling the drain for a few years now with no signs of recovering. I doubt they'll last another 5 years, but I suppose it's possible. |

Well as much as I despise Best Buy, and as much as I'm certain they will be out of business within the next several years, there is one big difference between them and Borders. Borders bled money for several years before finally closing up shop. Best Buy has only had one unprofitable quarter, and that was due to financial and tax charges. The company is still profitable overall. |

from the way Mike Toole's been putting it Best Buy is in the slow downward spiral to going under. Nice to see the next step to them in bankruptcy has happened.

At any rate, he's the founder and owns a big chunk of the company - it's not very surprising if he gets a golden parachute. |

There are no socialist or communist countries in that list. Those states are distinguished from the United States by their extensive overt social welfare systems, but all have market economies, not ownership and control of most or all sectors of the economy by the state, and are in some ways freer than that of the United States.
It'll feel a lot more like a golden shower to the rest of us. |
