please tell me they're not turning into G4, showing half finished lincenses. i could understand this with long series like Inuyasha and Fullmetal Alchemist, but not with 26 episode series.
i hope this doesn't become a frequent practice.

yeah. from what i'm hearing now, geneon won't let them show past the dvds, so i guess it's not really their fault.

Yeah, it's apparently this "great" new business practice of Geneon's to license out series thirteen episodes at a time or so. Hence the reason we'll be seeing all of Paranoia Agent in a single run, but Samurai Champloo will be cut in half and the second part aired several months later.

Where did you hear this? I thought it was because AS wants to give those who haven't seen Champloo a chance to catch up. If this stuff about Geneon is true, that's stupid... or is it?

I seem to remember hearing about it back when people were all up in arms over TechTV (and soon after, G4) breaking up all of their Geneon-released shows into halves, starting with Last EXILE, and then Gungrave, R.O.D.: THE TV, etc.

GadGuard is another.
How far finished is Tehxnolyze? Encore Action has acquired that.

TEXHNOLYZE is all done
As for this... damn, oh well, I was gonna get the rest of the DVDs anyway, but this is kind of a disappointment
I kinda wanna see the thing sometimes before the DVD comes out, so the wait won't feel longer you know

That's what the schedule says and if you didn't notice it ended on the 12th episode. Nice way to end a season on a recap episode, surely makes me exicted to see more.

Episode 1 was on Tonight, I thought they would at least show until Ep.13.
Oh well,...

If I recall, didn't the same thing happen a few years back when Cowboy Bebop or Outlaw Star was first starting up. I know that it always made me kind of angry but then I was happy to be able to see any episodes I may have missed before the series gets into the final neck.
I know that they did this with Dragonball Z when CN starting airing it but that's a very long series so it's understandable.

dont forget BIG O had the same thing done to it the first season was shown and it ended in a cliffhanger and season 2 was aired a couple months later. in a way i think its smart by geneon because now i will be buying the dvds for sure i bought the first two when they came out and when champloo began to air on TV i stopped because well i was gonna see it anyway on adult swim. i hope they restart showing paranoia agent because I've missed episodes 6 until now i had a family reunion and forgot to set my vcr before i left. anyway you guys call them jerks for doing this to you i call them marketing genious. i was gonna buy the next volumes of champloo anyway i mean i do have the first two but now i will sooner and i didn't see episodes 8-12 anyway so i guess ill get them now.

Big O was only 13 episodes. the second season was made for exclusively adult swim.

Not entirely. The overall popularity of the series allowed CN to channel funds into Sunrise and co-produce it, but it still aired/was dubbed in Japan first. Then it went on to AS after Big O reruns.
