About time the three presumed-orphan sisters returned.

I hope it's handled by whatever pieces of the former Studio Daume production team they can manage to get together instead of Asread.

Also, it's long past time some domestic licensee, presumably either Nozomi, Sentai Filmworks, or NIS America, announced that they've acquired Minami-ke for the American market.

While I felt that the art style and color palette used in S1 fit the series well, I would assume the author wanted to go with their original designs. Seeing as S2+ was far closer to the novel designs. Personally I thought Chiaki was far cuter in S1 but w/e.

Also the director for S2 from Asread was terrible. He clearly had no idea how to properly direct a comedy show. They did a lot better in that regard in S3, but it was hard to erase the bad taste in many viewers mouths.

There's a reason most people joke that "there was no Minami-ke S2" Smile

Yeah I like the designs in the first season the best too. Coincidentally, I've been watching random clips of the series on youtube for fun. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Alright! I love this series, and wasn't even phased much by the second season (though it's clearly the worst of the series, at least Hosaka's moments are still golden!) I still need to catch up with the show past the second season, but I've seen a few clips of the later stuff and it looks like things really improved since then.

I definitely agree that there needs to be a license, ideally with a really fun cast.

Yay! More Minami-ke! \o/

Hmm, what's this about a Minami-ke calendar? I'm still looking for a 2012 calendar..

While the director was pretty bad, everyone knows the REAL problem with S2 (and S3) was that there was no Sensei & Ninomiya-kun and no news about the Fundoshi Festival. If they return for this anime, success is guaranteed.

Alternatively, as long as Hosaka gets a significant amount of screentime, this project will do just fine.

Cautious overflowing enthusiasm: Love this series like crazy, but fans might remember the serious difference between the art quality of season 1 versus the start of season 2. I hope they put in the effort to deliver a polished product from the start! Sometimes I think the only reason we haven't seen an english dubbed version of this series is that difference in art quality...

Hm... so lemme try to understand this. This is not a sequel but it sounds more like they're going to just make another anime of this from the beginning...?

Is that similar to how Hunter x Hunter is being remade into Hunter x Hunter 2011? Just kind of confused how they'd do that with this show. Reanimate it and start again?

Im not opposed to it, just trying to make sense of it.

If this is Asread again, I swear I'm going to punch a wall or something.

Daume did such a good job with the first season... why not let them do more?

No, the biggest problem with the Studio Asread series was that they didn't feature the "Bible Black"/"serious business" faces of the original Studio Daume Minami-ke.
