Very nice, interesting interview! One of the things I enjoyed about the manga was how lovely the dialogue and inner monologues were. It clearly displayed the emotions of each character.
Though this makes it all the more depressing knowing how the manga ends.

Zac mentioned this interview on his twitter a few days ago. I can sense his tears even now.
I'm still hopeful that things will somehow work out in the anime like I hope.

I remember that Twitter post...Poor Zac.
I'm also hoping that it works out in the anime. Like, I'm totally fine if it remains pre-time skip.

Please look forward to finding out about this, when you see the anime.

I'm hoping that they are able to tell the entire story.

hmm written by a mother of two so it does have some sense of realism there...

Ah, so his given name is Taku, not Suguru. I went ahead and fixed the ANN credit. From what I've heard, he was an editor for a magazine before and used to be part of Ghibli's production staff (as you can see by his credit as "production assistant for Gedo Senki). Looking forward to the anime adaptation and I hope that his silence on the time skip means that he will be handling things a lot differently than in the original manga (while haven't read the manga, but people kept throwing that spoiler around in every single thread related to this show, so it was hard to not be curious and find out about it).

I'm not sure I'd want all nine volumes compressed into a 12 episode series... hopefully they can do a sequel or two (ala Nodame Cantabile)

I had no idea what "Usagi Drop," was before I read this. I'll check it out for sure when it comes over here. Looks cute.

If it weren't for the ultra creepy ending, this actually would be a pretty good series. This is one of the very, very few times where a time skip actually makes a series worse than improving it, which is very rare in anime, as usually a time skip makes the series better, not worse.
I've read the manga and it's a decent series up to the time skip.

Everyone keeps saying Bunny Drop has a creepy ending, as if the manga is already finished? I mean... is it finished or something? And if so, how many volumes was it and what chapter did the creepy part come in? Because, there's something I'm having trouble following here and I feel that it won't help me much if I just watch the anime.

The manga finished in April. 9 volumes, 55 chapters.
Can't remember specifically where the story takes it's turn, but it's after the time skip towards the end.

Could someone tell me how the ending is handled? It's well established how it ends but I've yet to read how it is handled

Out of curiosity, what did that Twitter post say?

Assuming the anime follows the original ending.
If it does, the reactions will be very amusing indeed.
From the Interview wrote: | The original dialogue in the manga is written by a mother of two, so it's already realistic. |
That makes the ending more interesting... and maybe more creepy...
