Hah! MY figures don't have to worry about having their faces licked or being tossed into a heap on the floor after a debauched night. Jes' sayin'.

Oh, oh, oh, yeah. My figures sooo envy yours. I've already apologized to them, so can you please stop bringing up this traumatic experience?

It's official: I'm done buying figma figures. The last one on order, KOS-MOS, will mark my last purchase of this line and I'm no longer confident even she will arrive without a broken part/piece/design to induce such breakage.
We had a pretty loud crack of thunder and it shook the house. Nothing major, but apparently my Black Rock Shooter figure wasn't attached to her base well enough, and she decided to take it upon herself to go sky diving. This figure was rather important because she was already fixed once, so when she hit the TV stand before hitting the safely padded carpet, I watched a piece of her head fly off in one direction as she tumbled lifelessly to the resting spot. Then she was mauled instantly by 4 cats. I had thought for sure the head piece was busted. After all, it did hit a hard surface. But no. Her leg snapped having hit the carpet. I'll be performing paperclip surgery again this weekend on this figure, but I'm pretty much done with the cheap plastic. The prices are just going up ($70 for Love Machine is a rape on common sense and the wallet) and it's just not worth it when $10 more can get me scaled beauties who won't break after falling (I should know... I've dropped a few of them). Nendoroids will now be promoted in lieu of this recent change and its history shows the choice will be a good one. I've yet to be disappointed with any of the Nendoroids I've received. |

These Black Rock Shooter figures must be cursed. Mine spent more time dismantled than in the shelf. Waiting to be fixed again.

My Ichigo Sculpture Arts came today. He is looking mighty fine I must say. The Sogyoku looks even finer and is the main reason I bought the figure. Every figure should have such awesome bases. The way I have it positioned on my shelf, the Sogyoku is staring right at me. The thing also already broke. The cord part snapped off. Luckily, it has a wire inside it, so I could slip it back on without having to deal with glue.

That is very cool, _Emi_. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a very limited number of that made ... like only 300 or something?

(Also, where are you buying them for that much [$70]? On AmiAmi, aside from a few LE exceptions, they mostly run ¥2200 to ¥2600.)
Oh, so this week I added the Jojo's... DX figure Vol. 3 A Josuke Higashikata: I love how his (unusually voluminous) uniform seems to just flow around him. *swish swish* ...and Vol. 3 B Giorno Giovanna: The various incarnations of GioGio here (which includes the preordered Di molto bene and RAH figures) is and probably will always be the only figure I own with cleavage. Browsing though AmiAmi's Anime Hero Preorders section, did anyone else notice this Level E Prince Nendoroid? I think I might need him to keep Sebby & Ciel company. Also kind of cool (though no surprise to anyone watching the show) is this S.H. Figuarts Tiger & Bunny Wild Tiger. But I'm holding out for figures of Kotetsu & Barnaby. Not the suits, just the guys. And lastly, though I didn't watch Star Driver I think this might be too fabulous for me not to own. Can anyone comment on the quality of S.H. Figuarts? |

Put in two more pre-orderes in at amiami for these two lovely girls. Azusa's pose is so cute and I think she will look nice along with the Mugi figure I have coming. I'm also hoping the Good Smile Company release a nendoroid for all of the Milky Holmes girls as I would love to have all of them - especially Hercule (Elly). I wish this Sherlock one had an option to have her hair in a ponytail or down she was so adorable like that.

With Black Rock Shooter, the first breakage came when I tried to separate the torso to remove the plastic they added for protection. Even with carefully applied torque, I lost a pin that combined the two parts. My Nanoha figure's right arm also broke when I tried to move it to pose her. Again, being careful didn't help because the factory state of the plastic, which is very rigid when it's brand new. Ever hear the "crack" when those parts are moved for the first time? I can't recall her name, but the girl with the green hair in Haruhi. Same thing, but with the left arm. Kyon's left arm pin is stripped and I had to glue it permanently into place because of it. I found this exceptionally odd considering it was a brand new figure. As for accessories, too many to name, but a few include Signum's bow (which really, really pissed me off), Vita's hammer, and Shana's sword. None of these should be made to the point the plastic is too thin to carry the weight or can't handle the torque of movement (for posing).
Glad I could help. I will say I own two Revoltech characters and absolutely love how they designed them. The hands are awesome, as those pins are 3x the size of figma hands. Ironically, I've yet to break a pin on figma hand and they're extremely thin.
4800¥ is the SRP, and while we won't pay this, it still sets the bar to drive the figure's cost higher than other figmas. By the time it reaches the US, We're going to see $70. As for it being cheaper in Japan, I'll agree figures are cheaper, but unless one buys them in bulk (and ship together), I'm not seeing the price advantage on shipping costs, where locally, it's generally free for me. |

I'm pretty jazzed. Got a shipping confirmation notice from amiami, letting me know that Index and Hot Nurse are on their way. This is on top of four other items also in transit (two Princess Menaces, a Veteran Mercenary from Queen's Blade and a Valley of the Wind gunship).
It'll be a quiet June, unless I do a bunch of unforeseen ordering. Of the remaining 11 pre-ordered figures I have, only two are scheduled to be released in June. As I've found to my disgust, being scheduled for release very much does NOT mean that the schedule will be met. |

Woohoo! My Di molto bene Statue Legends Vanilla Ice finally arrived just this afternoon!
Anyone familiar with Jojo's knows that how ridiculously you dress is directly proportionate to how murderously psychotic you are, so merely looking at this man should tell you all you need to know. Now just back away, slowly... I didn't post them here but I also spent way too much time trying to get a shot of his bum under that flap. What can I say, I have a friend who will be keenly interested and I gotta share the knowledge. (As I was shooting these photos, I realized that I was singing Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely" to myself while making it gender appropriate. ) On an unrelated note, I also found the Rohan Kishibe Master Stars Piece figure at Anime Export's eBay store this morning. I didn't even shop around (not that I'd been able to find him anywhere else, since he's a prize figure & therefore not available at AmiAmi/HLJ, etc.); I just immediately, nigh instinctively hit "Buy It Now." |

Oh man, peeps, just got back from Anime North with a HAUL of figures. I was able to buy 8 of them for a grand total of $140 Cdn. Here are the specifics in order of purchase.
Picked up Alexander Jaggi and Camus from DMC. Note the links I provided that list the price for each at roughly $21 U.S. each (not that it matters because both are sold out)? Cost to me? $5 Cdn each. No tax, no shipping, no handling fees, natch. My next purchase wasn't as good of a bargain, and to tell you the truth, I think I might be a little sorry I got her: 1/8 Metamo Figure Haruhi Suzumiya Bunny Version 1.5 She's discontinued at HLJ now, but as you can see, she was costing close to $46 U.S. and I got her for $40 Cdn. The reason why I'm not thrilled with her is that she is all splotchy due to that hot/cold thing. I'll either have to freeze her to get her back to black outfit and stockings, or warm up the parts that are still that colour. Right now she is in an unattractive, some flesh/some stocking/some red/some black state. This will be my last temperature-influenced figure, for sure. Next I bought: eva-00, I also got the eva-03 and eva-04 production models in that same line, but I can't seem to find a listing for them online. Anyway, all three were $20 Cdn each. Finally, I got two Rio figures for $15 Cdn each: Rio in Dealer outfit and Rio in China dress The money I saved in shipping fees alone makes me feel all toasty warm... |
