So are we supposed to pretend the whole novel and anime thing never happened? Seemed like it just got dropped with no references made to it at all. Are the novels this is based on really so badly written?

And wow, Kirino is an annoying character. At this point I don't care what she does, I'm watching the show for everyone else.

Since in episode 8 that the anime was supposed to be out in July so I can assume in the show it's not July yet. Anyways It was interesting to see Kirino get all giddy when playing the game. I really loved the part where spoiler[she has to take shower and put on clean panties so she can get to the H scene.]

Harsh words, although I have to agree with watching as a result of another character.

The previous episode was original to the anime. In the LN, spoiler[Kirino's novel hasn't been published yet, and the story is about how her editor plagiarizes Kirino's work.] Nothing about Kirino's novel getting an anime.

I see. Someone explained that the last episode was reworked, but I assumed the part about it becoming an anime was still in the novel. That's a pretty drastic re-write of the story for the anime, seems like it would have been better if it was about the publisher wanting to make drastic changes to Kirino's story before having it printed. I think people would be better off just skipping over episode 8 all together. I already didn't like that episode, but now knowing it's entirely filler I like it even less.

Did you notice when spoiler[Kirino was playing the Eroge the "sister" character at around 6:22 says "Creep! Don't act so familiar with me. Don't talk to me, it pisses me off, You're an idiot!" Than when she passes her brother to take a bath a second time (22:01) Kirino says the same lines to her brother?

At first to be honest I thought it was her playfully flirting with her brother, which kinda weird-ed me out a little bit. But then remembering the past episodes I think it's starting to come together for me. My theory is that Kirino and her brother never had a good relationship when they were growing up. She wanted to have an older brother she could depend on and look up to, but he probably wasn't very engaging in her life. Now she expresses this resentment on her outer-shell but perhaps deep down she just wants to have a caring brother she can depend on and relate too. I think it would be safe to say she is too embarrassed to directly ask for him to step up and be a caring brother so instead she fulfills this emotional gap with Anime. The "Sister Eroge" thing, I still don't know what that is all about... Maybe a mix of emotional fulfillment from the virtual sibling role-play, and to satisfy her maturing sexual hormones.

Either way I find this Anime fun to watch and its really easygoing.]

Kirino would give Freud a psychological hard-on.

I actually thought she was trying the words out on her brother to get an idea of how to proceed in her game, otherwise it's a bit strange that she unconsciously says the same lines, word for word.

I really liked this episode. Much better then the last 2. Watching Kirino get all excited wile playing the game was funny. The spoiler[shower] thing was both funny and a bit disturbing

I thinks the lack of him being a good big brother has made her develop a major brother complex. But yeah... I noticed that line at the end. I thought the writers had forgotten about the implied brother complex until that. *sigh* Still a pretty fun series though.

Oh man I hate Kirino even more now. She's making the show hard to watch, even though I like Kyosuke and Saori a lot and want to see them more.

You know how they keep bringing up how Kirino and Kyosuke don't look alike even though they are siblings?

I bet that one of them was adopted.

I could be wrong though. But if I'm not, then it opens up the plot a bit so a relationship between the two wouldn't be as "disgusting" as we originally believed it to be.

That would about ruin the show completely for me. The whole "we're not really blood related so it's OK" concept is one of the most over used, cliched, generic, and unimaginative plot points you can find in any anime or eroge and the like.

I'd rather they just kept any romantic tension to themselves and just work on being better siblings.

This episode was very entertaining. I'm glad they steered away from the novel/anime portion for a while at least, it was getting too serious. I'm all for drama, just not too much for too long. I can foresee some drama coming up but I'm looking forward to it.

On the technical side: Great subbing, it was very easy to follow the dialog. Kudos as well for keeping the buffering out of the main show but no kudos at all for the OP and ED. There is a week between the Japan premiere and the US premiere is there no way to test and work out all of the buffering issues? Granted it cannot always be perfect but IMO this was horrible, particularly the ED.

Keep up the good work but please work to make it even better Smile

If, as I expect, everyone gets to see Saori in the next episode dressed differently and without her glasses no doubt they'll be shocked. If so, shades of Clark Kent syndrome. It wasn't as if the outfit she usually wears really hid the fact she had a nice body.

It is rather stereotypical that none of the female otaku in this story were actually unattractive, overweight, and/or simply plain.

Just read about this Cartoon Leap Oreimo Post...maybe it is just a rumor but I wanted to ask, if it is true, will ANN be hosting the additional episodes?
