Their style to me is both interesting and unique. I've listened to a couple of their albums but unfortunately I have not really kept track of what series they've made songs for. I only know of the two tracks for Rozen Maiden and that they were also involved in making the soundtrack for .hack. But they are still pretty good, mixing and everything. I'd listen to more but so far they're pretty popular it seems, which means even used their CD prices go a little bit beyond my wallet.

I'm still not sure if I've warmed up to them yet. Her voice is just a little too... sharp and piercing. I don't mind high-pitched (it's not really that), but something about her voice irks me. They've done a lot of songs for Bee Train shows such that if it's not a Yuki Kajiura song it's almost always a Ali Project song.

I haven't really listened to anything of theirs outside of .hack and Code Geass. However, for these shows, the almost otherworldly quality of their music lent itself well to the science fiction themes.

Unfortunately I fall in the category of "hate." Them singing the OP has nearly ruined shows for me. I can't help think, "What would Plato think about this? (Re: the Third Book of the Republic)
Mayhaps I'm just getting an off sample. But things like the Shigofumi OP, for example, I can't stand.
I listen to abrasive and experimental music, such as IDM, or Jonny Greenwood or Iannis Xenakis or what have you. But I don't want to be forced to listen to abrasive music everytime I watch an episode of an anime.
The only song of theirs I can really stand is Pastel Pure from Maria Watches Over Us. And I actually love that song, since it's such a different (and actually pleasant) style than what I'm used to from them.

Hate em. Their Geass endings almost made me go deaf.

I'm not really musically minded, but to me their stuff for Rozen Maiden sounds like...techno-ballet?
It's different, I like it.

I had the same problem with the Excel Saga OP; just horribly annoying. But that's the beauty of DVD players, we can skip stuff.

Techno-Ballet actually seems like the perfect way of describing their style of performance as well. Ever see any of it? Especially with the almost-Kabuki like way that they dress.

I have not. I just thought they were some anonymous band, to be honest. But if they actually put on shows and whatnot, I may YouTube it.

They're not bad, for me. In a way it seems like they're always experimenting with music, but they end up releasing the same style. I guess what's good about their music is the way it can express the dark and surreal atmosphere of some anime.

It took a few listenings to their songs on Animelo Summer Live videos for me to appreciate Ali Project, but that's the great thing about Animelo Summer Live - you broaden your tastes by listening to songs *other* than your favourites.
It is funny seeing Arika amongst the other singers in some of the Animelo Summer Live theme song videos on youtube - she is the reserved one amongst the old rockers of JAM Project and younger singers.

Meh, they're alright. Apart from a few songs, I've found most of their stuff to all sound the same. I don't hate their style per se, but I wish they had more distinction between their songs.
