Will this game ever be released in the US? Probably not, but I'll still wait.

From what I've heard, Key (as well as Type-Moon) ask for quite a bit more money than the companies that translate visual novels are willing to spend.

Yeah I've heard Key is VERY anti-localization with their visual novels. It's unfortunate too because Clannad/Little Busters/etc would sell a TON in the US. They've all been translated by fansubs, but there's never once been an official release.

Sigh....I'm done. Haha I'd love for this to get localized but what're the chances? I doubt a petition would do anything oh well back to dreaming.

Great, now people with Vitas can openly sob in public.

I love Clannad and its adaptations, and I really really hope they will release an official English version. So far the only one with official English is Planetarian for smartphones. I thought they might consider releasing other English versions if the reception is great, but so far there's no such news *sigh*
Visual Art's president seems to hate gaijins. I read somewhere before about a gaijin asking about localization via twitter. He seemed to react bitterly about it. When the one who asked told him that he bought an original Japanese copy to play it, Baba (VA's president) replied that he can play it, but only if he resides in Japan. Pretty much he meant that even if we bought the games legally, we're not allowed to play it as long as we're gaijin.
Back to the real topic:
Aside of this getting ported to a newer console, is there any new feature in this game? Like extra CG perhaps, or bonus scenario, or something else? LB Perfect Edition, for example, added (only) one extra event CG, updated A-chan senpai's sprite, fully voiced and other small things. I don't think they will add extra CGs though, since Hinoue's art and coloring style already changed a lot from 10 years ago.
Also.... Yeah, Clannad is having 10 years anniversary. It has been very long, but it is still memorable.

Erm... I wouldn't be too sure about this.
There should be a reason we barely see clean VN (y'know, those ported into console/handheld) getting official US localization.

Yep. I bought it even though I don't have any iOS device. I also bought it from their little kinetic novels webstore that they had going for awhile (now closed down).
Planetarian is amazing. Love the setting with its post-apocalyptic atmosphere. Very different from the feel of every other Key game. Starting to give up hope for an OVA adaptation though. Oh well, I can always watch it again.

Yeah but theres a difference between no name visual novel x that has no history vs Key titles that have full anime adaptations and some have movies. People know these titles already so it gives them a huge advantage.
When I say a ton I dont mean millions. I mean it would do well enough to be profitable. Obviously that is only my opinion and not backed by fact, but thats another story.

Yeah. With the recent completed translation of Air, I don't think there are any main Key properties that haven't been translated unofficially.
Though I wouldn't necessarily say they would sell that much here. They have a niche western fanbase as potential market. Very dedicated, but niche...

Rewrite harvest festa, tomoyo after memorial edition sections, kud wafer, little busters ex routes are the only ones not translated
As for planetarian I am sorry but the official English translation is pretty poor.

They should sell 'em as literature on books apps.

Extremely - it's a real shame too. Hell will freeze over before Any Key VN gets an official English translation
And 'that' incident with Clannad-Man definitely did not improve their opinion on the subject...
