Anime USA Welcomes Japanese Rock Band, BACK-ON
Japanese musical sensation, BACK-ON, to perform as the headlining act at Anime USA 2013
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Aug. 18, 2013 — Anime USA is honored welcome the return of Japanese band, BACK-ON. BACK-ON is a four-piece band hailing from Tokyo. In essence, BACK-ON is blend of rock, punk, pop, hip hop, house, and electro genres. Their name, translated in Japanese, is the sound of an explosion and they have exploded onto the rock scene in Japan. Just like a clever actor who can portray different characters, they take inspiration from a diverse selection of music genres and create a sound that's all their own. BACK-ON has evolved into a band that challenges ideas through the emotion and expressive power of their live performances.
Current Line-up:
Their most famous song to date is “Chain”, which featured as the opening theme of the anime Air Gear. They are noted for creating anime and game openings, such as the opening theme, “Hikari Sasuhou (fk Metal ver.)” of Murder Princess; “Blaze Line” of Eyeshield 21; and most recently, "Sands of Time" for the robot TV drama, Keitai Sousakan 7. BACK-ON's rap vocalist, Teeda, collaborated with Japanese pop sensation, Koda Kumi, on the track, “Poppin' Love Cocktail”.

BACK-ON first appeared at Anime USA 2007. This year, BACK-ON will be appearing with a special surprise guest. Fans of BACK-ON are invited to attend Anime USA 2013 to see their headlining performance on Saturday, September 14. About Anime USA: Anime USA began in 1999 as a 3-day Japanese animation convention in northern Virginia. It was started by fans. In 2004, Anime USA formed a non-profit educational organization to host the convention. Anime USA's mission is to promote, as well as educate the public about Japanese arts and popular culture. As in the beginning, Anime USA remains a convention of Otaku, by Otaku, for Otaku. Anime USA is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit managed solely by a staff of volunteers.
