Anime Voice Actor Speaks at UT Dallas April 14
Richardson, Texas (April 7, 2009) – The University of Texas at Dallas presents anime voiceover star Crispin Freeman, giving a lecture entitled “Mystics, Priestesses and Warrior Women,” at 7 p.m., Tues., April 14, in the Galaxy Rooms of the Student Union. An anime voice actor, voice director and scholar, Freeman's talk is one in his series where he applies Joseph Campbell's ("The Power of Myth," "The Hero With A Thousand Faces") ideas about mythology to anime. He has played in over 90 anime series and films including Hellsing, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzimiya, Ghost in the Shell and Eureka Seven. Freeman's appearance is co-sponsored by the Arts and Technology (ATEC) and Gender Studies programs. Admission is free; doors open at 6:30 p.m. and seating is first come, first served.
