Gatchaman Cast at Alamo Screening
ADV presents
GATCHAMAN (BATTLE OF THE PLANETS)
with voice cast in person for Q&A!
Date: Wednesday Feb. 22 - FREE ADMISSION!
Theater: Alamo Downtown - 409 Colorado
Sometimes there are five, sometimes only one - the mysterious white shadow that steers closer to its prey - and yes, it has been known as "Battle of the Planets", "G-Force", and "Eagle Riders", but it's the original series that spawned these adaptations - Gatchaman - that will be on tap at the Alamo Drafthouse on February 22.
Aside from well-developed storylines that are only now (with ADV's recent release of the entire series) truly available to North American audiences, the appeal of Gatchaman is also distinctly tied to its 70s origins; with their retro white bellbottoms and perfectly feathered hair, the boys of Gatchaman will always be my prototypes for the ideal male. (Kier-la Janisse)
At this very special event, sponsored by ADV Films, english-language dubbing director Charles Campbell's favorite episodes will be screened (Gatchaman Versus Turtle King, The Plan to Assassinate Dr. Nambu, Little Gatchaman, Killer Music, and Return of the Iron Beast Mecchadegon), followed by a Q&A with the voice cast, including the legendary Ed Neal (of Texas Chainsaw Massacre fame)!
