Farfetch'd in Galar evolve to Sirfetch'd after many battles

The official website for the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Nintendo Switch role-playing games revealed the new Pokémon Sirfetch'd on Wednesday. Farfetch'd in the Galar region evolve into Sirfetch'd after they compete in many battles. The website began streaming an introduction video for the Pokémon.

The Fighting-type Pokémon uses the stalk of a leek as a lance and the leaves of the leek as a shield. When the leek withers after many years, Sirfetch'd retires from battle. The Pokémon can use the new exclusive move Meteor Assault.

The website began teasing the new Pokémon with "glitched" pages on Friday.

The games will ship worldwide for the Switch on November 15.

The starter Pokémon in the games' new Galar region will be Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. The previously revealed new Pokémon in the games will also include Wooloo, Gossifleur, Eldegoss, Drednaw, Corviknight, the Legendary Pokémon Zacian and Zamazenta, Alcremie, Yamper, Rolycoly, Duraludon, Galarian Weezing, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Linoone, Obstagoon, Morpeko, Cramorant, and Polteageist. New features will include Dynamax and Max Raid Battles, Gigantamaxing, Poké Jobs, the Battle Stadium, Surprise Trades, and Pokémon Camp.

The Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! games, the franchise's first games for the Nintendo Switch, shipped in November 2018. The games are set in the Kanto region of the first Pokémon games, and are specifically based on 1998's Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition.
