Malaysian film chain GSC Movies began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for Gekijōban Servamp: Alice in the Garden, the anime film based on Strike Tanaka's Servamp manga, on Wednesday. The video reveals that Odex will screen the film in Malaysia beginning on August 9. The film was previously slated for September 6.
The film opened in Japan on April 7.
The additional returning and new cast members include:
Kazuya Ichijou as Mikado Alicein, Misono and Mikuni's father
Kouji Takahashi as Eisuke Dōdō
Ayaka Fukuhara as Mitsuki Usami, Mikado's assistant
Other additional cast members include Ayaka Nanase as Yuri, Sayaka Senbongi as Mari, and Mai Nakahara as the "mysterious 'girl.'"
The film's story deals with Misono Alicein's past. The main cast from the television anime reprised their roles. Hideaki Nakano returned to direct the film at Platinum Vision, and Junko Yamanaka again designed the characters. Ayumu Hisao (Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) replaced Kenji Konuta to write the script. OLDCODEX returned to perform the film's theme song "One Side." OLDCODEX previously performed the television anime's opening theme song.
Tanaka launched the series in Monthly Comic Gene in 2011, and Kadokawa published the manga's 12th volume on March 27. Monthly Comic Gene is listing that the manga has 1.5 million copies in print. The manga inspired a television anime in July 2016. Animax Asia aired the anime in June last year.
