posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Aniplus-Asia announced on Tuesday that it will air a simulcast of the Pikotarō's LULLABY LA LA BY anime. The anime will premiere on the channel on Wednesday at 11:55 p.m. GMT +8, but the show's first three episodes are already available through the channel's online video-on-demand service.
The series premiered on TV Tokyo and streaming services such as dTV and animeteleto in Japan on August 2.
Pikotarō (the stage name of Japanese comedian Kazuhito "Daimaō" Kosaka) is improvising the story of each episode using fairy tale illustrations by the anime's director Takashi Taniguchi. Pikotarō voices every character, including himself. Flash animation studio DLE is handling animation production. Pikotarō is credited as the original creator and with the music under his "producer" name Daimaō Kosaka.
Pikotarō is best known for his bizarre viral music video "PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)."
