Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons Marks 20th Anniversary With New 3DS Game

Latest farming simulator set in 3 different towns with female or male protagonist

Kadokawa's Weekly Famitsu Magazine is reporting on Thursday that the Bokujō Monogatari (Harvest Moon or Story of Seasons) farming simulator franchise from Marvelous is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a new game for the Nintendo 3DS. The title of the game is Bokujō Monogatari: Mitsu no Sato no Taisetsu na Tomodachi (Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons: Precious Friends From Three Villages):

The game will have at least three locales: Lulucoco Town (Lulucoco Mura, top right in the image above), Tsuyukusa Village (Tsuyukusa no Sato or Dew Grass Village, center right), and Wes Town (bottom right). The culture of each will be completely different. Lulucoco is an island settlement, Tsuyukusa is a Japanese village, and Wes Town is a western-style town.

The game will feature a protagonist — female or male (pictured bottom left) — and the characters Noel, Miranda, Megan, and Frank (from left to right on the bottom right) from Wes Town.

More information will be in the magazine issue on Thursday.

Natsume published most of the previous games in the franchise under the umbrella title of Harvest Moon in North America. However, since Xseed Games — Marvelous AQL's own subsidiary — published the most recent game in North America, it cannot use Natsume's Harvest Moon title. The last game, Bokujō Monogatari: Tsunagaru Shin Tenchi for Nintendo 3DS, debuted in North America under the title Story of Seasons last March.
