posted on by Andrew Osmond
Dark fantasy listed for March 8 release from Animatsu, including combo Collector's Edition

The first volume of the Animatsu edition of Akame ga KILL! is now listed on Amazon UK with a March 8 release date. Both a Deluxe Collector's Edition edition and a standard DVD edition are listed.

Manga Entertainment has also posted details of the collector's edition on its blog. It will contain the series on both Blu-ray and DVD (3 DVD discs, two Blu-ray disks). It will also come with a hard cover booklet, tattoos, a sticker, a poster and a rigid outer book. The on-disc extras will include 'AkaKill! Theater' as well as Japanese promos, and clean opening and closing.

The dark action fantasy follows the title character, Akame, a girl who was bought and raised by the Empire as an assassin. After meeting Akame, a boy named Tatsumi vows to stand up to the corrupt Empire with the secret assassin group Night Raid and special weapons known as Teigu.

Tomoki Kobayashi (Tears to Tiara, sola) directed the anime, and Makoto Uezu (Danganronpa The Animation, Qwaser of Stigmata) was in charge of the series scripts with original creator Takahiro supervising the scenario. Kazuhisa Nakamura ( Jormungand) designed the characters, and Taku Iwasaki ( Black Butler, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Gatchaman Crowds) composed the music.
