World Trigger Manga Goes on 1-Issue Hiatus Due to Author's Health

The combined sixth and seventh 2015 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is announcing on January 5 that due to author Daisuke Ashihara's sudden illness, the World Trigger manga will go on hiatus.
Although the manga is listed on the survey postcard within the magazine, the manga is not featured in the issue. The manga will return in the magazine's eighth issue of 2015, which will be released in Japan on January 19.
Ashihara also took a hiatus in September to treat the nerve roots affected by cervical spondylosis (wear and tear on neck area of spinal column).
World Trigger debuted in last year's 11th issue of Japan's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Viz Media added the series to its digital anthology version of Weekly Shonen Jump, and it published the first print volume on October 7. Shueisha published the eighth compiled volume in Japan on October 3.
Viz Media describes the series as follows:
Weekly Shonen Jump's newest series is out of this world! A gate to another dimension has burst open, and from it emerge gigantic invincible creatures that threaten all of humanity. Earth's only defense is a mysterious group of warriors who have co-opted the alien technology in order to fight back!
The World Trigger television anime from Toei Animation premiered on the TV Asahi station and its affiliates on October 5. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs.
