Katamari Damacy Creator Keita Takahashi Makes Wattam PS4 Game
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Katamari Damacy game creator Keita Takahashi and video game designer Robin Hunicke announced on Saturday that they are developing a new PlayStation 4 game titled Wattam. Takahashi first developed the idea of "making connections between different types of things" with his friend Vikram. The title comes from both Japanese and Tamil words for “making a circle” or “making a loop.”
The announcement trailer follows the Mayor of Wattam. The video describes Wattam as "3D action game with interactive sound." The developers will reveal more characters throughout 2015.
Takahashi's Katamari Damacy rolling puzzle game inspired seven sequels in North America and Japan for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360, and mobile devices. He also directed and designed Noby Noby Boy and Tenya Wanya Teens.
