Nikkei: Sega to Port Chain Chronicle to PS Vita
posted on by Karen Ressler
Japanese financial news source Nikkei reported on Wednesday that Sega's smartphone game Chain Chronicle will get a PlayStation Vita port this summer with the help of Sony Computer Entertainment. The port will feature the same story and gameplay, but with additional characters and scripts.
In the game, players recruit characters into an army in order to defeat the menacing Black Army. The game's name derives from the interlocking relationships among this vast cast of more than 200 characters. Akira Ishida voices 46 of the characters, and Ai Nonaka, Shiori Mikami, Ayane Sakura, Maaya Uchida, and Kotori Koiwai also have roles.
Several illustrators, including toi8 (MAOYU, No. 6), Arco Wada(Fate/Extra) and HACCAN (Fire Emblem Awakening, Zangeki no Reginleiv) drew the characters for the game.
Chain Chronicle game was released for Android and iOS last July and August, respectively. The game won a rookie award for mobile and PC games on Wednesday at the Famitsu Awards 2013.
