The editor of Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan manga announced via Twitter on Thursday that volume 13 will receive a first printing of 2.75 million copies. The volume goes on sale in Japan on April 9.
The April issue of Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine announced earlier this month that the manga has over 31 million copies in circulation in Japan. Wit Studio producer George Wada told financial news source Nikkei that the manga had 30 million copies in January. One Piece set a record for first printings in Japan with 3 million copies in 2010, and the current record is 4.05 million copies set by One Piece #67 in 2012.
The manga has been translated into eight languages and published in over 10 countries. In particular, it has been a hit in North America (660,000 copies), South Korea (530,000), and Taiwan (420,000). Kodansha credited the series with its first revenue increase in 18 years and its first increase in both revenue and profit in 19 years.
