Yotsuba&!-Inspired 'Le Danboard' Short Previewed in Trailer

Geneon Entertainment's Rondo Robe label began streaming a trailer for "Le Danboard," a new stop-motion short featuring Yotsuba&! manga's cardboard robot suit Danbo. The short depicts Danbo's somewhat pleasant daily life on a living room table, in a garden, and elsewhere.
Studio dwarf (Domo, Komaneko) produced the short with music by Kuricorder Quartet (Yotsuba&! image album, tsuritama, ). The short will be screened with a slideshow from Ariel Nadel's 366 Days of Danboard book and dwarf's "Komaneko -Hajime no IPPO-" film.
The short will run exclusively in Tokyo's Cine Quinto theater from August 24 to September 13.
Last year, a Thai public TV show began using Danbo as a mascot character. Several life-size replicas of Danbo's Amazon variant also appeared in the 2011 Pride Parade in Seattle; the online retailer Amazon is headquartered in that city. ASCII Media Works is the publisher of Yotsuba&! in Japan, while ADV Manga and later Yen Press published the manga in North America.
