Barnes & Noble CEO Resigns
posted on by Rae First
American bookstore chain Barnes & Noble announced on Monday that its CEO William Lynch has resigned effectively immediately. In addition, a new CEO for its NOOK e-reader division has been chosen. The board of directors have hired Michael Huseby as CEO of NOOK Media LLC and President of Barnes & Noble. However, Lynch's position has to yet be filled at this time. The NOOK CEO is a newly created position, and Michael Huseby is the first to fill it.
Barnes & Noble made these changes after it announced that sales had declined in the last quarter. The company lost US$108 million on NOOK sales.
