posted on by Jon Hayward
The anime series is based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Yuki Suetsugu, published in Kodansha's Be Love josei (women's) magazine since 2007. Morio Asaka (Aoi Bungaku Series, Cardcaptor Sakura, Chobits, NANA) directed the project at Studio Madhouse, and Naoya Takayama (Supernatural the Animation) was in charge of the scripts with character designs by Kunihiko Hamada (NANA).
The anime series runs for 25 episodes and was originally broadcast in 2011. Chihayafuru has been followed by a second season that started in January 2013 and both series are streamed on Crunchyroll.
Currently there is no further information on Siren Visual's website concerning the release date, format the release will take and any further detail. However we will post further information as it comes to light.
