posted on by Egan Loo
On Sunday, Japanese production company Media Factory began streaming the second promotional video and a previously aired commercial for Haganai NEXT, the second season based on Yomi Hirasaka and Buriki's Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai light novel series. "Rinjinbu," a group made of voice actresses Marina Inoue, Kanae Itō, Nozomi Yamamoto, Misato Fukuen, Kana Hanazawa, and Yuka Iguchi, sings the songs in the videos.
The second season of the Haganai (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai) school comedy anime will have first season's assistant director Tōru Kitahata (Love, Election & Chocolate) taking over the proverbial director's chair from Hisashi Saito (Bamboo Blade, Heaven's Lost Property). Unlike in the first season, original novelist Yomi Hirasaka will be in charge of the series scripts alongside the first season's Tatsuhiko Urahata. Kurasumi Sunayama (Monster, Romeo X Juliet) is also joining the writing staff. Toshihiro Kohama (SaiKano, Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!, Spice and Wolf) replaces Yuka Hirama as the art director.
The main voice cast from the first season are reprising their roles for the second season.
The series will premiere on the TBS Television station on January 10.
Update: Media Factory also began streaming a commercial for the opening and ending theme songs for the second season. Rinjinbu sings both "Be My Friend" and "Bokura no Tsubasa" (Our Wings), and Tom-H@ck produced them.
