Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray and DVD in Q3 from Anime Limited (Updated)
posted on by Andrew Osmond
Anime Limited has tweeted that it will release Cowboy Bebop on UK Blu-ray and DVD in the third quarter of 2013. It is the first acquisition announcement by the new company (which was itself announced earlier in December), set up by Andrew Partridge of Kazé UK and Scotland Loves Anime.
On its facebook page, Anime Limited added that it would announce one new title a month. Its next announcement will be on January 31, or earlier if the page receives 2000 'likes.' (As of writing, it has just over 1000 'likes.')
Update - In the subsequent discussion, Anime Limited said its blu-ray would be using the same material as the Japanese release. The blu-ray would not be an upscale, but "would match the Japanese job, which I think actually was a proper job." Regarding the film version of Cowboy Bebop, Anime Limited said the film was still with Sony, but "We'll be looking into what we can do for it."
