Yama no Susume Anime Shorts to Begin on January 2

The wraparound jacket band on Shiro's second Yama no Susume (Encouragement of Climb) manga volume is announcing that the television anime adaptation will premiere on January 2 from 25:30 to 25:35 (effectively, January 3 from 1:30 a.m. to 1:35 a.m.) on Tokyo MX TV. The air date was also listed in the January issue of Nyantype magazine on Friday.
The title tells the story of the childhood friends Aoi, a girl who prefers staying inside and who has acrophobia, and Hinata, a girl who loves mountains. The two decide to climb a mountain in order to once again see the Morning Sun from its peak as they did when they were young.
Yōko Hikasa will play Kaede and join Yuka Iguchi (Aoi), Kana Asumi (Hinata), Yui Ogura (Kokona) on the cast.
Yūsuke Yamamoto (Aquarion Evol, B Gata H Kei - Yamada’s First Time, Sgt. Frog) is directing and 8-Bit (Aquarion Evol, Infinite Stratos) will be responsible for animation production.
