Entertainment Licensing Associates, a Los Angeles-based branding and licensing agency, formed a joint venture with Tokyo-based Kaliya to help Japanese content owners expand their reach outside of Asia. The two companies intend to acquire, develop, and license Japanese intellectual property for introduction in North America and worldwide. The acquisitions will include films, anime, manga, video games, and toys.
The founder and president of ELA, Dan Kletzky, has worked with Kei Hiroki, the head of Kaliya, for more than 10 years at Konami Digital Entertainment and Lucent Pictures.
