Duel Masters Victory V Anime to Premiere on Saturday
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
The Japanese broadcaster TV Tokyo's Anitele website announced this week that the Duel Masters Victory V television anime will premiere in Japan on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The series will be a sequel to Duel Masters Victory, the eighth television anime based on the Duel Masters trading card game, which concluded in Japan on March 31.
Wizards of the Coast, a Hasbro subsidiary, is planning to revive the Duel Masters franchise in the United States with a multi-platform version that includes an online game, a trading card game, and a separate television series, set to air on American networks this summer. The Hub, the new television channel from Discovery Communications and Hasbro, will run the tentatively titled Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters animated series from Hasbro Studios.
The original game already inspired seven other television anime series in Japan: Duel Masters, Duel Masters Charge, Shinseiki Duel Masters Flash, Zero Duel Masters, Duel Masters Zero, Duel Masters Cross, and Duel Masters Cross Shock. The Cartoon Network ran the first anime series in the United States.
