One Piece Manga 65 Sells 3 Million in Less Than 2 Months
posted on by Egan Loo
On Thursday, the market research firm Oricon posted its extended manga sales ranking chart for the March 19-25 week, and the chart revealed that One Piece volume 65 sold over 3 million copies in less than two months. While at least eight previous One Piece manga volumes have also sold over 3 million copies each, none of them accomplished the feat in less than two months. No manga volume has sold this many copies this fast since Oricon began posting its sales ranking charts in April of 2008.
One Piece volume 65 went on sale on February 3 with a record-tying first print run of 4 million copies. It then moved 1,934,961 copies in just its first three days on the shelves. It continued to inch higher week by week, until it sold 32,339 copies this past week to push it to 3,005,287.
