The 2004 Studio Ghibli fantasy Howl's Moving Castle (pictured), directed by Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke) from the British novel by Diana Wynne Jones, will be shown on BBC2 on Saturday June 25 at 12 noon. The Radio Times magazine specifies that the dub version will be shown, with a cast including Christian Bale and Billy Crystal.
The story involves a young woman, Sophie, in a European-style city at war, who is transformed into an elderly woman by a witch. She boards a magical moving castle and encounters its flamboyant owner, the legendary wizard Howl.
The film is already available on DVD, and will debut on U.K. Blu-ray on June 25 from StudioCanal.
