posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Manga creator Masayuki Izumi's manga short titled "Mimi Hori" will receive a live-action adaptation on Saturday. The short was published as part of a collection of Izumi's shorts titled Kakkoii Sukiyaki (Groovy Sukiyaki) in 1998.
The adaptation will be broadcast as part of the Fall special of the Yonimo Kimyō na Monogatari (Extremely Strange Tales) television series on Saturday evening on Fuji TV. The episode will star Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer's Kakihara, Redline's Frisbee) as a professional hit man who always cleans out his ears before performing his missions. The episode will be titled "Mimi Kaki."
Two other shorts featured in Kakkoii Sukiyaki, "Yagyo" and "Saigo no Bansan," had been previously adapted into live-action episodes for Yonimo Kimyō na Monogatari.
