Manga Sister Dance Event in London from September 20
posted on by Andrew Osmond
Following the recent TeZuKa dance event at Sadler's Wells, a "dance opera" will begin in London on September 20, entitled Manga Sister. The story is about a man in an abusive care home who watches a midnight animation, "Manga Brother," in which a girl is repeatedly killed and resurrected. The man is then transformed into a "manga warrior."
The show will run for eight performances (all at 8p.m.) between September 20 and October 6. The venue is The Yard theatre near Hackney Wick (map). Prices vary from day to day between £4 and £10.
Manga Sister is performed by the company Liveartshow, which has a website here. The piece was created by Harry Blake and Alan Harris, and is directed by Martin Constantine.
