The North American manga publisher Viz Media announced on Monday that Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's manga version of Hideaki Anno and Gainax's Neon Genesis Evangelion anime will launch on the VizManga.com website as well as the Viz Manga manga app for the Apple iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch devices. The manga will be available in chapter-by-chapter increments for $0.99 each. A new chapter will premiere each week. Currently a preview of Chapter 1 is available for free with both Chapter 1 and 2 currently for purchase.
The Neon Genesis Evangelion manga began serialization in Japan in 1995 and began printing in the United States in 1998. The manga is still running in Young Ace after resuming from a hiatus in March. Sadamoto is also the character designer for the Evangelion anime franchise.
