posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
The official website for Tokuma Shoten's Monthly Comic Ryū magazine announced this week that the magazine will go on hiatus after its August issue, which is due out in stores on June 18. The magazine is going on hiatus to prepare for a relaunch in December. The new magazine will still be called Comic Ryū and will still be published monthly. During the hiatus, Tokuma Shoten will still publish compiled book volumes (tankōbon) of manga featured in the magazine.
Series currently running in the magazine include: Shinpei Ito's Taishō Yakyū Musume (Taisho Baseball Girls), Yoshiki Tanaka and Katsumi Michihara's Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Natsuhiko Kyōgoku and Akihiko Higuchi's Loups-Garous and Masaomi Kanzaki's Xenon.
The magazine was first published from the late 1970s to the mid 1980s, but was revived as a monthly publication in 2006.
