Anime Expo announced on Thursday that it is hosting Nippon Ichi Software (NIS) President Sohei Niikawa at its July 1-4 event in Los Angeles. In addition to co-running NIS, Niikawa produced the company's Disgaea and Phantom Brave franchises. He also wrote the lyrics for several songs heard in these games.
Niikawa's company established an American branch, NIS America, which is not only localizing its own games, but also distributing English-subtitled anime such as Toradora!, Pandora Hearts, Persona -trinity soul-, Our Home's Fox Deity (Wagaya no Oinari-sama.), Wagnaria!! (Working!!), Arakawa Under the Bridge, and Katanagatari.
Niikawa joins other Anime Expo Guests of Honor such as the virtual idol Hatsune Miku, Japanese pop trio Kalafina, television host/blogger Danny Choo, and voice actor Vic Mignogna.
