Manga UK Cancels Future FMA: Brotherhood Blu-ray Discs
posted on by Gia Manry
The Blu-Ray.com news website reports that Manga Entertainment UK has cancelled its plans to release Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Blu-ray Disc after disappointing sales for the series' first two Blu-ray releases could not justify the cost of the future releases. The remainder of the series will only be released in standard definition.
Manga UK confirmed this information on its Twitter account but noted that "everything else is solid," referring to a user's question about the company's other Blu-ray releases. The company also stated that the first Blu-ray volume of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood sold only 750 copies.
Funimation licensed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood in North America, and the company has released two volumes on Blu-ray and will release the third on December 28.
This past July, a new Fullmetal Alchemist movie was announced.
