posted on by Egan Loo
HTB, a television broadcaster on the northern Japanese island of Hokkaido, has announced on Wednesday that the children's television anime series Yume-Miru Anime on-chan (Dreaming Anime on-chan) will return for season 2 on November 9.
The on-chan character has been HTB's mascot character since it officially debuted on December 1, 1997, and had already appeared in the 2003 feature-length anime film on-chan Yume Power Dai-Boken (on-chan's Great Dream-Powered Adventure). Voice actress Rie Tanaka (Chobits' Chii, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed's Lacus), who was born in the Hokkaido's capital city of Sapporo, played on-chan in the first television season which premiered in 2008.
Season 1 ended with on-chan and his friends leaving Ponpiko Town for the skies, and season 2 will center around the adventures that they have on the new islands they visit. The animated shorts will air between 7:54 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. every Tuesday.
