The Amazon.com retail website has nominated Eiji Ohtsuka and Hosui Yamazaki's The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service volume 9 as one of the Best Book Covers from a Series for 2009. Bunpei Yorifuji designed the cover. 60 covers were nominated in 10 different categories. The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service volume 9 is the only manga that Amazon nominated this year. Registered members can vote for their favorite in each category on the website.
The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service is about five current and former members of a Buddhist university who have trouble finding jobs with their majors, and so they use their respective talents to search for unnamed corpses and find out and fulfill their last wills. Dark Horse Comics licensed the manga in North America and has shipped nine volumes so far, with volume 10 arriving in stores on January 13. The manga is currently running in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine. 12 volumes have been published in Japan so far.
Dark Horse Comics revealed at Comic-Con in July that a live-action movie adaptation is in development at the Universal film studio.
